Dato' Faiz became Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia in June 2024 and chaired the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum in 2025.
He spent over 30 years with PwC and as Chairman of PwC Malaysia for 11 years. He is a Council Member and Fellow of ICAEW, and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and served as President of MIA and Chairman of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board. He also chaired an advisory committee at the IASB on Islamic Finance.
Dato' Faiz studied law at Durham University, was called to the English Bar and holds Honorary Doctorates of Law from both the University of Nottingham and University of Durham. He was made a Bencher of the Honourable Society of Inner Temple in 2026.
