Paul is President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
He is a former President of ICAEW and is a member of the Tax Faculty Board. He sits on HMRC’s Administrative Burdens Advisory Board, is an Independent Adviser to HMRC’s Closing the Tax Gap Committee and a former member of the GAAR Panel.
He writes and speaks on Tax administration and technology, is a consultant to two software developers and chairs the Audit & Risk Committee at Wells Cathedral. He was appointed OBE in 2009 for services to the profession.
