Thursday 22 April 2021: Nigel Sleigh-Johnson, Director of ICAEW’s Technical Strategy Accountability Group, commented on the EU’s new proposals around sustainability reporting. He said:
“As momentum builds towards more sustainable, resilient and net-zero economies, initiatives to boost the status and quality of sustainability reporting and ensuring greater connection with financial reporting are critical.
“These comprehensive and ambitious proposals address important issues around sustainability reporting, standards and assurance, and are likely to provide a significant point of reference not only for EU member states, companies and stakeholders, but for the UK and other countries around the world too.”
