The top-performing ICAEW students from around the world will celebrate their exam successes at a virtual prizegiving ceremony today (Thursday 12 May 2022).

The ceremony will recognise the achievements of students who studied for the ICAEW CFAB and ACA Certificate Level, Level 4 Accounting Technician Apprenticeship and the ACA Advanced and Professional Level exams in 2021.

In total, 109 students will receive awards, representing the UK, Cyprus, Malaysia and Vietnam.

The event will be hosted by ICAEW President William Brooks and will include a keynote speech from ICAEW member Jackie Crane.

Hilary Lindsay, Almoner and Chair of the Charity of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, will present the winners of the Level 4 Apprenticeship prizes.

The ceremony will be streamed live here at 1pm today UK time. The event will also be recorded and available on demand at icaew.com/prizegiving.

ICAEW President William Brooks said:

“I’m delighted to be awarding these prizes to our students, who represent the very best from around the world during 2021.

“The past year has been filled with challenges and uncertainty. I’m extremely proud of all our students – including our ICAEW CFAB, Level 4 Accounting Technician Apprenticeship and world-leading ACA students – for persevering, adapting and once again accomplishing some extraordinary achievements.

“As the next generation of business and finance leaders, these chartered accountants will be at the forefront of building a sustainable future for us all. Congratulations to all of them.”

Hilary Lindsay, Almoner and Chair of the Charity of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, said:

“The Chartered Accountants’ Livery Company is delighted to be presenting the Level 4 Apprenticeship awards today, as this is such an important route to qualifying as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.”

Jackie Crane, Finance Manager at Proximo Limited and keynote speaker, said:

“I became an ICAEW member in 2016 but a significant moment for me was in 2015 when I attended my own prizegiving ceremony. I was always interested in what ICAEW was and thought there must be more to it than lots of exams, and I was right.

“My involvement with ICAEW and its student societies has made me a better chartered accountant, as well as a happier, more confident and authentic person.

“It's exciting to see these students at the beginning of their journey, and I’m sure they will go on to do great things. I cannot wait to share my story with everyone involved at this event.”
