Matt Hutchinson ACA FCCA has been elected as President for ICAEW Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

An ICAEW Chartered Accountant, Matt is Associate Director in the audit and accounts team at The Rowleys Partnership Ltd. He began his career in audit at Hayles and Partners. Matt balances his Presidency of ICAEW Leicestershire and Northamptonshire with other voluntary roles as chairman of his local community magazine and trustee of a charity working in Tanzania.

Matt’s role as President will focus on supporting just under 3,000 fellow ICAEW Chartered Accountants in the local area, and on building close connections with and between members and their networks. He will lead on developing new and innovative initiatives and events, particularly for those new to the profession or recently qualified.

ICAEW Leicestershire and Northamptonshire plays an important role in supporting members to address the unprecedented challenges facing the accountancy profession and businesses, such as digitalisation, modernisation of tax systems and Brexit. It also plays an important role in facilitating local networking for local professionals through its series of events, seminars and initiatives.

Speaking of his appointment, Matt commented, “It is an honour to serve as President of the ICAEW Leicestershire and Northamptonshire and to engage with ICAEW members across all sectors and age groups in the area. I am excited to build on existing synergies that the district already has within the business community for the benefit of business and society as a whole.”

Emily Ball ACA of Northampton’s Hawsons Chartered Accountants was also appointed Deputy President.

ICAEW Leicestershire and Northamptonshire next meets virtually on 29 June 2021 at 5:30pm. Any ICAEW member wishing to be involved with its local work is welcome to come along.
