Celebrating student success is a key part of ICAEW Scotland activities, and 2022 was no exception.

First awarded in 2013, the ICAEW Scotland Trainee Chartered Accountant of the Year Award is one of the ways we celebrate the achievements of the next generation of accountants.

At our annual open event in December, ICAEW Scotland President, Stelios Kornaros, announced our winner Jamie Moir.

On receiving the news of his award, Jamie said,

“I am delighted to have won the award, and grateful to my colleagues at EY, my family and friends for all their support while studying and sitting the exams, I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Meet this year’s winner

Jamie comes from Coatbridge and studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Strathclyde. He joined EY in 2019 working in the Technology Risk team in Glasgow.

Outside of work Jamie enjoys the gym, watching football, going on holiday and eating out!
