He also served ICAEW with distinction as the contact member for Italy for many years.
A chartered accountant since 1974, David spent more than four decades in Italy, where he built an exceptional career marked by international expertise and a commitment to professional excellence.
After qualifying, David joined Deloitte in Milan, becoming a Partner in 1984. Following his retirement in 2010, he established his own practice as a sole practitioner and continued to serve as a registered auditor in Italy.
His work spanned auditing multinational subsidiaries and supporting bilateral trade and investment initiatives. David also held numerous corporate governance roles and lectured at Bocconi and Cattolica universities.
Alongside his contributions to ICAEW, David was an Honorary Councillor and Past-President of the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy and a Past Vice-Chairman of the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe. Additionally, he served as the President of the Italian Association of International Accountants, which supports both British and Irish Professional Accountants who live in Italy.
ICAEW extends its heartfelt condolences to David’s widow, Elisabetta, his sons, and all who knew and loved him.

The chapel of rest will be open on Wednesday, 17 September from 09:00 to 17:00 (UTC+2) at Casa Funeraria San Siro, Via Corelli 120, Milano.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday, 18 September at 11:00 at All Saints Church, Via Solferino 17, Milano.
