Biography
Richard joined KPMG in 1997, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 and became partner in 2013. He has worked primarily in Financial Services with roles across Audit, Accounting Advisory, Prudential Regulation, Client Assets and Internal Controls.
Richard is a partner in the KPMG's Consulting Practice with a focus on regulation, controls and assurance.
He is KPMG's national lead on UK Internal Controls advisory and leads the Banking Financial Regulatory Reporting practice providing a range of services from implementation to management and regulator commissioned reviews. He has extensive experience in acting as a Skilled Person for the UK regulatory authorities. Richard also leads KPMG's Client Assets advisory practice.
Richards has actively contributed to the Financial Services Faculty through working parties on regulatory and accounting matters and as a member of the Risk and Regulatory Committee since 2010 (Chair since 2019). Richard chaired the CASS Working Party from inception in 2015 to 2020.
in 2011, Richard was appointed a specialist advisor to the Treasury Select Committee (2011 to 2015) and served the committee on a six-month secondment 2011 to 2012.
