Matthew qualified in 1998 at KPMG Infrastructure and Government Assurance Group. He started his corporate finance career at KPMG and then worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan over a 10 year period. He advised technology sector companies on capital raising and M&A in the EMEA region.

Since 2008 he has provided corporate finance advice in relation to regulatory and government matters. He advised the Competition Commission on mergers, divestitures and cost of capital. As Director of Corporate Finance at the NAO he produce reports on privatisations, asset sales, private capital and advised the PAC on value for money.

Matthew currently sits on the board of the Single Source Regulations Office (a Ministry of Defence agency) and advises the Secretary of State on profit rates for non-competitive contracts and provides data analytics services. In 2016 Matthew was also appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Gemserv Limited (energy sector consulting and outsourcing, cyber security and data protection), where he is Deputy Chair and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Matthew is also a Partner in Domius Capital Advisors LLP, an FCA regulated corporate finance advisory firm and he recently founded Shoreditch and Whitehall Ltd.
