ICAEW launch 'safe space' with the NCSC
ICAEW has recently launched a “safe space” for members to disclose cyber-attacks and discuss cyber-security. The e-community, in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), will mean members can share their experiences without compromising business reputation.
The community is part of the NCSC Cyber Information Sharing Partnership (CiSP) platform. A highly secure environment designed to allow business leaders, as well as technology experts, to share information with complete confidence.
Michael Izza, ICAEW Chief Executive, said:
“As cyber-attacks increase in frequency and complexity, it is vital for professionals to share intelligence in a safe space which doesn’t compromise their reputation. In the past, businesses may have been reluctant to share their experiences, but the reality is that everyone is at risk and we can minimise the risk by working together in a safe community.”
ICAEW are the first accountancy membership body to launch its own group with the Cyber Security Information Sharing Partnership (CiSP). The group will be open to ICAEW members and membership firms, and users can choose to post anonymously.
Michael said:
“The community is about sharing experiences, learning, and keeping organisations safe. We want to stay one step ahead of cyber criminals by sharing intelligence, and supporting our fellow ICAEW Chartered Accountants.”

How to join the NCSC CiSP
Read the terms and conditions found in the PDF on the download section of the CiSP registration page, ensure you check your organisation eligibility in section 2.

The CiSP platform benefits from organisations working together and participating in the conversations. If a person does not participate regularly the effectiveness of CiSP reduces. If you choose not to regularly logon to CiSP you risk you access being revoked by NCSC. See the terms and conditions for more information.
Once an organisation has joined CiSP individual members or their nominated representatives can then apply to the dedicated ICAEW forum group: “ICAEW Chartered Accountants”.
Applications for this forum group can only be approved if you are an ICAEW member or nominated representative.
