Meet the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Committee
The society was formed in 1901 serves more than 3,000 members in the counties of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and the District of Peterborough.
The society’s members come from accountancy practices small and large and from a range of business, public sector and Third Sector interests. The district society is deeply engaged in the development of the local economy and regards the promotion of the profession – especially among students – as a crucial part of its work.
It also acts as a link between the ICAEW in Moorgate Place and members in the district.
Thought-provoking discussions, technical updates and networking with fellow ICAEW Leicestershire & Northamptonshire members and other professionals (and great food!) all take place regularly near you.
We currently run spring and autumn networking lunches with the Peterborough & District Law Society at Bombay Brasserie. Discussions are informal, and the events are a great opportunity to catch up with fellow professionals. In Northamptonshire the annual quiz with the Northants Law Society is always popular.
Alongside the networking events, the society offers a range of seminars to cover all your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, including our two annual tax seminars (Topical Tax Tips and The Finance Act) and the national ICAEW Essentials programme. We also run two annual autumn conferences for members in business and in practice. These are a great opportunity to cover a huge range of CPD and network with your peers.
The society also work closely with the Midlands regional team to bring members economic updates, reports on ICAEW’s Business Confidence Monitor, networking for retired members, quarterly ‘Business of’ events, opportunities to join MP round tables, and ‘Behind the Scenes’ events.
All our events are open to both members and non-members, and we welcome new guests to attend.
