ICAEW Vic/Tas Network

The ICAEW Members in Victoria member group was launched in May 2004, to provide support and focus for members based in Victoria.

  • Simon Fletcher Simon Fletcher Chair / President

    Simon qualified with Deloitte in London and subsequently worked in various banking roles for Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns and JP Morgan. He moved to Sydney in 2009 and worked for National Australia Bank for eight years before moving to Melbourne and is currently CFO and Head of Research for BondAdviser.

  • Mark Ellison Mark Ellison Vice Chair and Council Member for Australasia (excluding NSW & ACT)

    Mark qualified in Manchester, then worked for KPMG in London, New York and Paris. He was CFO of several companies in Europe, and later a partner with EY in Paris before joining a private equity portfolio company in Hong Kong SAR as CFO. He moved to Melbourne in 2017 as a Senior Advisor with Hindal Corporate, working principally with private equity. Mark helped to set up the ICEAW groups in New York and Paris, and joined the Melbourne committee in 2018.

  • Kim Doan Kim Linh Doan Treasurer

    Kim commenced her career in audit in the UK with HLB Vantis Audit. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, she then transferred to Melbourne in 2006 to work for HLB Mann Judd. She left public practise in 2008 to work for Hastings Funds Management – a leading fund manager of infrastructure, property, alternative debt and private equity. Kim has worked in a number of roles across both the Debt, Equity Fund accounting teams as well as Corporate Finance.

  • Andrew Fisher Andrew Fisher Secretary

    Andrew qualified with BDO Manchester region in the 1980s, and after a stint with a large West Country network of firms decided to emigrate to Australia in 2002. Since then, he has been with Banks Group in Hawthorn, and oversees the busy audit division as partner.

  • Nicola Cordell Nicola Cordell Committee Member and Lean In organiser

    Nicola qualified as an Accountant whilst working for Duncan & Toplis Chartered Accountants in the East Midlands. She moved to Australia in 2012, and worked for Warakirri Asset Management as an Accountant for 2 1/2 years. She is now a Financial and Investment Accountant at AIA Australia.

  • Brian Jones Brian Jones Committee Member and Contact Member for VIC&TAS

    Brian has lived and worked in Australia for 30 years. He set up a professional chartered accounting and business advisory practice in 1989 (Ahead For Business Pty Ltd). Brian is currently a member of the Melbourne Business Network Committee.

  • Margarita Larraga Bielsa Marga Larraga Committee Member

    Margarita commenced her career in the UK working in audit and restructuring services. She joined KPMG and transferred to Melbourne 4 years ago. Margarita left professional services in 2015 to join Toll Group, the largest transport and logistics company in Australia.

  • Umair Murtaza Umair Murtaza Committee Member

    Umair commenced his career in 2004 with PwC Pakistan. He later relocated to the Middle East where he qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant while leading the Financial Planning and Analysis department of a diversified multi-billion dollar conglomerate. Umair has previously been affiliated with ICAEW in the Middle East to promote the ICAEW brand particularly among leading business schools in the region. Umair recently moved to Melbourne towards the end of 2018.

  •  Conor O'Neill Conor O'Neil Committee Member and Younger Members

    Conor qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst working for PwC in Reading, UK. He moved to Melbourne in 2014 to join PwC Australia, and continues to work there in the role of assurance manager.

  • David Lindill David Lindill Committee Member and CABA Champion

    David qualified in 1980 with Kidsons in East Anglia. After working for Shell in London and internationally, he joined Touch Ross and moved to Melbourne in 1987. He subsequently worked for Kodak in Finance and IT Management, travelling globally and living in Japan and the US as well as Australia. In 2008 he established a project and change management business, undertaking a range of assignments before his recent retirement. He is looking forward to working with the Melbourne Committee and CABA

  • Janice Kelly Janice Kelly Committee Member

    Janice qualified with KPMG Blackpool in the 1980's. She then worked in their Preston and Manchester Offices as a taxation specialist before moving to Australia in 1994. Since then Janice has held Finance Manager roles in various agribusinesses and farms, together with her husband, in north western Victoria. She currently works as a NED.
