Paul trained with PwC in Edinburgh, before moving to the private sector in September 2014. Previously, Head of Finance at NWH Group, Our Power Energy Supply Limited and Finance Manager at Energy Assets Group plc. Paul has a strong interest in sustainability, social mobility and diversity. For ICAEW Scotland, he is looking forward to raising the profile of members in Scotland and increasing engagement of students and younger members.

Stelios qualified with PwC in Edinburgh in 2014. He then joined Infrastructure Managers Limited, a provider of management services for PFI/PPP projects. Stelios specialises in financial management and financial modelling. His goal for ICAEW in Scotland is to engage with and support ICAEW members in Scotland.

Alan specialises in the analysis of data in support of audit, management reporting and fraud investigation. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Tech Faculty (having served on the committee for 18 years). He seeks to ensure that ICAEW members in Scotland receive all the benefits of ICAEW membership enjoyed by the rest of the UK.

Carl is a tax specialist, author and presenter. He aims to support the work of ICAEW in Scotland and to engage with as many members in Scotland as possible in his roles as committee member and as elected Council member for Scotland. Carl is the immediate past Chair of the Tax Faculty and a former member of the ICAEW Board.

Clare loves data, systems and I.T. She thrives in the fast paced retail environment, having spent time working in Italy, Germany and Hungary she is also passionate about Europe and the benefits of using the qualification to combine work and travel. She aims especially to encourage and support ICAEW members in Scotland who are interested in data, systems and Europe.

Eduardo is a current ICAEW student who works within KPMG’s Audit practice as part of their school leaver talent programme. He aims to strengthen the student network within Scotland and bring a new perspective to ICAEW when shaping aims and ideas.

David Dow David Dow  

David has retired after a career with KPMG, with Cambridge University and with the Scottish Government. He has represented ICAEW Scotland on various consultative panels (including ICAEWs Business Futures project) and at seminars.. He represents retired ICAEW members in Scotland while also maintaining an interest in public sector issues.

Shelah has specialised in the health care sector for over 10 years. She was formerly a hospital clinician and general practitioner. Her particular expertise is the development of strategic change programmes and improvement of organisational efficiency. For IMS she aims to find new ways to sustain and extend the participation of members and support the wider role of chartered accountants. Shelah is also an ICAEW Support Member.

Heather is an investment professional specialising in long term portfolios for public sector and charity clients. Alongside the ‘day job’ she is a pro-bono Board member of three charities including CABA, for whom she chairs the investment committee. One of her aims for IMS is to raise awareness among finance professionals at all stages of their careers of the benefits of trusteeship.

Stephen is a technical accounting subject matter expert for Clearwater Analytics, based out of its Edinburgh office.Stephen is an Alliance Manchester Business School graduate, with a wide variety of post-qualifying business experience. After qualifying, Stephen worked in the commercial sector in a variety of FP&A and financial control roles, including time in corporate finance and acquisitions, before moving into the financial services sector. Stephen is looking to bring his enthusiasm for all things FinTech and accounting geekery to the benefit of members in Scotland.

Jim is a self-employed public and third sector internal auditor. He originally trained and qualified with PwC in London and specialised in local government. He sees good governance as invaluable in public and commercial life in Scotland and joined the Scotland committee because he believes accountants are uniquely placed and trained to drive up governance standards in Scotland.

Emily is a Manager in Audit at PwC who qualified in August 2018. Prior to this, she completed the PwC Flying Start Programme at Newcastle University which included work placements in London. She then moved to Edinburgh in September 2017 and continues to live there now. Emily is keen to support and grow a community for younger members and students in Scotland.

A highly-experienced businessman, with a long career as Chief Executive, Finance Director, non-executive director and consultant, for businesses large and small, across multiple sectors. He is currently engaged in developing three emerging businesses. He is also a trainer and is an author on the topic of business success. For IMS, he is looking to promote chartered accountants as a source of expertise to support entrepreneurial businesses, particularly in the SME community. Stephen is IMS Business Resources representative.

Melanie Wilson Melanie Wilson  

Melanie is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, author, presenter and ethical entrepreneur with businesses operating within practice, training, education and creative industries. Melanie is a former president of ICAEW Scotland, committee member of ICAEW and CIOT Scotland and leads the newly formed sub-committee of ICAEW TAX Faculty focusing on Scottish Taxes. Representing and educating members and society regarding key taxation developments, policy and future direction of taxation, including specific Scottish Taxation aspects are core interests.
