ICAEW’s network boards extend across the UK, including Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, and serve as a voice for ICAEW members at a local level. They act as a crucial platform for communication, collaboration, and consultation, and connecting ICAEW and its members with regional insights and perspectives.

The network boards play a key role in informing ICAEW’s local strategy by providing invaluable perspectives on local needs, trends, and the evolving economic landscape. Volunteers are appointed from the areas in which they work and advise, ensuring their knowledge and influence has the greatest impact. Our boards are selected to be representative of the local membership; bringing in-depth insights into their specialist fields and the sectors driving the local economy, to identify challenges and opportunities in the evolving profession and business environment.

Applications now open for the ICAEW Local Network Boards

We are pleased to invite ICAEW members to apply for positions on the ICAEW local network boards with new terms commencing in June 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for members who wish to play an active role in shaping the direction of the profession locally and contributing of the wider ICAEW community.

The ICAEW network boards aim to represent local members, engage with the local professional and business community, facilitate communication, advocate for ICAEW, and support aligned activities. Board members help ensure that our activities, events and strategic priorities reflect the needs of local members and align with the evolving economic landscape.

What the role involves

As a network board member, you will help shape the professional landscape in your region through a range of responsibilities including:

  1. Representing the views of local members to ICAEW, key local stakeholders and any additional relevant bodies within the network area
  2. Representing the members of the local network in the local business and wider community
  3. Acting as an ambassador and advocate for ICAEW and the network membership in the area
  1. Acting as a medium for consultation and communication to and from members with ICAEW, key stakeholders and any additional relevant bodies within the network area
  2. Supporting and promoting relevant activities to achieve these objectives
  3. Working with the ICAEW Regional/Nations Director and team to advise a strategy that supports all the above, and collaborating with neighbouring networks, as appropriate

Applicant information

We are open to applications from all ICAEW members, comprising those:

  • Working in industry, in SMEs and large corporates, and across the key sectors driving the regional economy
  • Advising in practice and across all disciplines
  • Working in charity and not-for-profit organisations with a national focus, and
  • At an early stage of their ACA career who are keen to broaden their experience and develop their leadership skills
