Mary Simpson

Director, International Member Engagement

Mary has over 20 years of experience in corporate communications, business development and event management. As a member of ICAEW’s International Leadership Team, she oversees Australasia, the Americas and Hong Kong and leads teams based in Hong Kong and London. Mary is responsible for building strategic engagement with industry leaders and regional stakeholders, driving growth and retention in membership, and raising the international profile of ICAEW.

Previously, as Director of Events for the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (AmCham), she implemented effective B2B and B2C strategies in business development and member and stakeholder relations. Under Mary’s leadership, AmCham experienced significant growth in its programme offerings, expanding from 250 to over 400 annual events and activities across key regions including Hong Kong, South China, Beijing, and Shanghai. She also played a pivotal role in enhancing AmCham's philanthropic efforts by forging partnerships with UHNW individuals, contributing to the growth of the AmCham Foundation.

As an experienced emcee, Mary has hosted a variety of city-wide industry and government events. Notably, she served as the emcee for the Asia tour of former US Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Mary is also active within the local and regional business community and is a board member of the Pacific Basin Economic Council and the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Stacy Ho

Senior Stakeholder and Membership Engagement Manager

Stacy brings over 15 years of diverse experience in stakeholder and member engagement. In her role as Senior Stakeholder and Membership Engagement Manager at ICAEW, Stacy implements strategies to enhance member engagement and satisfaction, ensuring that members’ needs are met and their voices are heard. She identifies and pursues collaborative initiatives with stakeholders, including joint events, research projects, and thought leadership activities, aimed at enhancing ICAEW's reputation within the region.

Stacy’s strategic communication skills, coupled with her experience in hosting podcasts, emceeing, and moderating panels and events, make her a dynamic addition to the ICAEW team. With her extensive background, she has successfully collaborated with C-level executives and key stakeholders, driving both commercial and charitable initiatives. Additionally, Stacy's entrepreneurial drive has led her to be active in the Web3/AI startup ecosystem, gaining recognition in industry talks, conferences, trade fairs, and media platforms with her role as Head of Education for AllStarsWomen DAO Asia Pacific Chapter. One of her notable achievements includes her volunteer role as President of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island East, where she has effectively fostered engagement and retention through community-building efforts.

Candice Tang

International Member and Insights Manager

Candice oversees local events and networking opportunities, and performance reporting and analysis internationally. She is also responsible for marketing campaigns and managing partnerships in Hong Kong SAR.

With a strong background in communication, she has achieved prestigious recognition as a four-time-awarded financial journalist. She has worked in esteemed international media outlets, where she showcased her expertise in anchoring, producing, and media relations. She also possesses a respected network within the financial and economic sectors.

Digital Communications Manager

Duncan Whitmore

Membership Engagement Executive

Duncan is an accomplished professional who recently made the move from London to Hong Kong SAR. His primary focus is on engaging members in Hong Kong SAR through local events and networking opportunities.

With a strong background in research and analysis through his master's degree in international business and politics, Duncan has previously worked for charities and think tanks, where he honed his skills in public policy. Additionally, he has valuable experience in organising large-scale events, demonstrating his ability to handle complex logistics and manage diverse stakeholders.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Duncan maintains an active interest in the sporting world, particularly in hockey.
