COVID-19: Appeals should be made online to the First-tier Tribunal
6 April: Appellants to the First-tier Tax Tribunal have been asked to submit appeals online due to the ongoing coronavirus measures.
An announcement has been made concerning a reduced service at the First-tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber) administrative centre in Birmingham due to COVID-19. Appellants should, where possible, submit notices of appeal online (click here) or by email to taxappeals@justice.gov.uk.
For further information and instructions see the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary website.
The announcement requests that parties still try to submit their appeals within the prescribed time limit but warns appellants to be aware that there may be delays while any backlog is being processed.
This time limit will take into account the general stay of proceedings for 28 days announced by the tribunal on 24 March 2020 (this stay does not apply to directions issued after 24 March 2020).
