The King’s Awards for Enterprise (KAE) recognise outstanding achievement by UK businesses across categories that include innovation, international trade, sustainable development and social mobility.
ICAEW encouraged members to consider applying for the awards or to share the opportunity with eligible businesses. Applications for the 2026 awards have now closed and the assessment process is underway, which means applicants will need support from their accountants.
What you need to know
In October, businesses shortlisted for a King’s Award will be asked to appoint an external accountant to verify the financial figures submitted as part of their application. The key dates are:
- Midday Wednesday 22 October – Shortlisted applicants are notified and asked to appoint an external accountant to verify their submitted figures.
- Midday Wednesday 12 November – Deadline for applicants to upload the signed and completed accountants certificate onto the KAE online application account.
The King’s Awards Office will reach out to applicants to encourage them to engage an accountant in case they are shortlisted.
ICAEW members are welcome to contact Cate Hilton, KAE User Journey Lead, on 07391 864601 with any enquiries or email kingsawards@businessandtrade.gov.uk.
