Rebecca Bennyworth
Rebecca Benneyworth MBE Lecturer, writer and tax consultant

Rebecca is a lecturer, writer and consultant on a wide variety of taxes. She lectures extensively to accountants and business people, and also to HMRC and the Treasury. She also has an interest in all issues affecting smaller practices and has her own small accountancy practice based in Gloucestershire.

As a former accountant in practice, Dan Marshall works closely with Xero partners on the implementation of Xero within their own accounting firms. He has specialist knowledge in Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, Xero's product offering, and how firms can prepare for the upcoming mandation.

Hannah Miller
Hannah Miller Director, Chipperfield Accounting

Hannah is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. She trained at Ernst & Young and has worked in the tax departments at Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs advising on tax compliance and international tax issues for the asset management and fixed income divisions. Hannah set up her own practice in 2013 and specialises in accounting and tax for small businesses and individuals.

Craig Ogilvie
Craig Ogilvie Director – Making Tax Digital, HMRC

Craig has enjoyed a UK Government career spanning over twenty years holding several key roles specialising in Digital and Data Transformation. Craig led the internal delivery of business change and engagement for go live of the high-profile Making Tax Digital Transformation Programme, and has held roles at HMRC as Director and SRO of Debt Management, Debt Respite, Payments and Pensions Transformation, SRO for Data Transformation, Data Remediation, and the Unique Customer Record Programme, and now programme Director of HMRC’s flagship Making Tax Digital.

Jim Rogers
Jim Rogers Senior Policy Advisor, HMRC

Jim leads on the MTD for income tax Policy. His team develop the design, legislation and guidance that underpins bringing mandated individuals into MTD for income tax from April 2026. Jim has been a policy professional for over 12 years with an extensive knowledge of direct tax policy and legislation having worked on capital allowances, research and development reliefs, patent box; and employment status and intermediaries.

Lindsey Wicks
Lindsey Wicks Senior Technical Manager, Tax Policy, ICAEW

Lindsey joined the ICAEW's Tax Faculty team in 2019, initially as its technical editor before progressing into a tax policy role. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2000, Lindsey decided to specialise in tax and spent over 12 years working in Grant Thornton's National Tax team.

MTD for income tax

Making Tax Digital for income tax is a fundamental change to the administration of the UK income tax system. It affects how individuals with income from self-employment and/or property and their agents will maintain accounting records and submit data to HMRC. It starts from April 2026 for those with gross income of over £50,000.
