Economic indicators measuring investment trends are available from a number of sources, including government and professional bodies. On this page you can access a range of online resources providing statistics and commentary.

Online articles

The ICAEW Library & Information Service provides access to a range of articles in full text from leading business, finance and management journals. This resource is available to ICAEW members, ACA students and other entitled users.

Economic Review
A monthly compendium of UK statistics and analysis compiled by the Office for National Statistics. Tables showing labour market statistics, output and demand indicators and other financial statistics are available to download. Data from January 2007 to May 2011 available as Economic and Labour Market Review on the National Archive website.

The Office for National Statistics gives information relating to investment, including:

Quarterly Economic Survey
Survey from the British Chambers of Commerce with figures on investment as well as other business and economic issues. First published in 2009.

Inward Investment Results
Published annually by UK Trade and Investment, the Report provides a review of its operations in the previous financial year. Previously known as the Inward Investment Report.
