New guidance: Fertility in the workplace

Employers will welcome a second new guide on fertility issues in the workplace, this time from the Fawcett Society in collaboration with TotalJobs, after a previous guidance on the topic from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Recommendations in the Fawcett Society guide for employers ‘Paths to parenthood: Navigating fertility at work’ include:

  • Training of managers to enable them to discuss fertility issues with workers comfortably and confidently.
  • Creating a fertility policy covering, for example, confidentiality and fertility leave and pay.
  • Providing in-house resources and other support.
