Your Continuing Professional Development Record

Author: ICAEW

Published: 21 Jun 2022

ICAEW is required to monitor the CPD of its members, and under Principal Byelaw 56, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) regulations, you have been selected to submit your CPD record for review in your capacity as a responsible individual.

CPD for responsible individuals faces increased scrutiny and with effect from 1 July 2016, you were required to ensure you satisfied the requirements of International Education Standard 8 'Professional Competence for Engagement Partners Responsible for Audits of Financial Statements' as well as maintaining adequate records of your continuing professional development. As a result, the ICAEW RAID principle supports this approach. We encourage you to refer to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for more information on RAID and the guide to IES 8 CPD updates (in Audit and Beyond Issue 232) if you have any questions.

The increased scrutiny requires you to complete the following documents in addition to your usual CPD records. We will then be able to determine whether the CPD you have completed is appropriate. (Please note: the documents on this page are only relevant to you if you have received an email from the ICAEW CPD Review team asking you to complete them).

This year's review also includes a review of the CPD category under the revised CPD Regulations. You will be able to work out what category you belong to by using the self-assessment category and reviewing the guidance available.

Thank you for supporting this exercise and helping all our members to complete appropriate CPD for their roles and circumstances.
