Building a modern audit profession
A timely report from the ICAEW-hosted AuditFutures initiative offers principles for building a modern audit profession, demonstrating positive thinking about what lies ahead for audit and its wider role in the economy and society.
Since its earliest days in the tailwinds of the global financial crisis, AuditFutures has considered the future of audit by reaching beyond it and engaging with a diverse community from audit and other professions. Learning from this has now been distilled into a report, Building a modern audit profession: Audit Manifesto, with five principles for building a modern audit profession.
“It demonstrates positive thinking about what lies ahead for audit, and its wider role as a force for good in the economy and society,” says Michael Izza, ICAEW Chief Executive, who believes the principles have relevance and resonance well beyond the audit community. “They can help to advance the wider policy debate and support the development of a modern audit profession.”
