Controls, change and innovation – can we achieve a better normal?
This article discusses how businesses can retain the ability to change and innovate quickly by reviewing which controls proved unnecessary during the pandemic.
1 Moorgate Place, the home of the ICAEW since the nineteenth century, is in lockdown and surrounded by the impact of societal scale disruption. Visually at least, it could have been different.
In 1666 London was destroyed by fire and several plans were drawn up, by Sir Christopher Wren amongst others, to improve London as it was rebuilt. The medieval alleys and lanes were to be replaced with wider roads in a grid pattern, but the authorities were slow while the residents were quick to rebuild the City of London along the old pattern.
