ICAEW's Downing Street invitation
Last month, ICAEW was invited to take part in a meeting at 10 Downing Street with Jimmy McLoughlin, the Prime Minister’s special adviser on business, to discuss the creative industries.
Notice of Annual General Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the annual general meeting of the Corporate Finance Faculty took place at 12.00pm on 8 May 2012 at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, Moorgate Place, London EC2R 6EA. Jim Keeling faculty chairman said ‘I am delighted to report a successful year for the Corporate Finance Faculty as we grew our network of professionals involved in corporate finance and extended the reach and influence of the faculty with politicians and policymakers.’

The faculty would like to welcome both Stephen Welton, Chief Executive, The Business Growth Fund and Mark Pacitti Partner, Deloitte Corporate Finance Ltd to its Board.

New Chairman for the Middle East Network
Declan Hayes was appointed the new chairman of the Corporate Finance Faculty's Middle East network. In his role as chairman, Hayes is supported by the Faculty's Middle East advisory panel. On his appointment Hayes said " I am focusing on increasing its appeal to a wider base. That will include Middle East-based sovereign wealth funds, private equity houses, investment banks and other key participants. I will also continue to support ICAEW members in the region."
New-Style Seminar to Focus on Support for Entrepreneurs
The Corporate Finance Faculty is running a seminar in the Midlands on 3 July on how entrepreneurial businesses can get the right kind of support from their advisors, investors and lenders. Private Equity Demystified and Updated
The 2012 update to the second edition of the Corporate Finance Faculty's guide "Private Equity Demystified" has been published. Members will receive a copy of the publication in their June mailing shortly.
Faculty getting very Social
The Corporate Finance Faculty's social media following has now topped 2,000. Shaun Beaney who is responsible for the Corporate Finance Faculty's communications, said he was particularly pleased with the lively discussions members have initiated on LinkedIn about a broad range of topics.
