TSB tests eye technology

TSB will be the first bank in Europe to use iris recognition technology to allow customers to access their mobile banking app.

From September, TSB customers with a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ smartphone will be able to use their phone’s built-in iris scanner to log into their account by glancing at their phone, instead of entering the lengthy ID and password.

The bank insists this is the most secure form of biometric authentication available with 266 unique characteristics, compared with 40 for finger prints (which still exists as an option).
