Become an ICAEW licensed IP
This section provides all the information you need to know to apply for an ICAEW insolvency licence, including a full list of requirements and details of the fees involved.
Qualifying as an IP
To become a licensed insolvency practitioner, you must first pass the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB) exams. On passing the JIEB exam, you can apply to become an ICAEW insolvency licence holder and have access to up-to-date information, advice and guidance.
Consolidate your insolvency licensing with ICAEW
You don’t have to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant to qualify and be licensed as an insolvency practitioner (IP) with ICAEW. By choosing ICAEW as your single regulator, we can reduce the administrative burden and provide your current and future IPs with a wealth of benefits and support.
Further support
Restructuring & Insolvency Community
Joining the Restructuring & Insolvency Community will give you support that really pays off. Led by a committee of dedicated specialists, we provide guidance, support and representation to insolvency practitioners. Best of all, it’s free to all those IPs licensed by ICAEW.
ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency
The ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency is the most flexible learning programme for insolvency professionals in the UK. It’s equally beneficial for experienced and inexperienced professionals, as well as being suitable for legal, finance, and other professionals.
Regulatory consultations
As an improvement regulator, the Professional Standards Department (PSD) will initiate and respond to consultations on issues that relate to our regulatory responsibilities. This includes specific regulatory issues or matters that relate solely to regulation. We invite the views of the ICAEW members and the individuals and firms regulated/supervised by ICAEW, consumers of accountancy services and other stakeholders.
