Meet the members of ICAEW Practice Committee.

Khiet Cheung
Khiet Cheung (Acting Chair) Appointed until June 2028, UHY Hacker Young

Khiet is the Technical and Training Partner at UHY Hacker Young LLP. She has over 18 years’ experience working in the Technical and Training field mainly focusing on mid-tier audit firms. She is also part of the UK Mid-Tier Firms’ Technical Working group as well as attending the UK Mid-Tier Ethics Partners meeting and often attends the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) discussion workshops, sharing her insights issues that impacts audit practices. Her focus is improving the firm’s Audit Quality through providing technical support and training to both trainees and qualified auditors on the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), UK General Accounting Practice (UK GAAP) and UK adopted International Accounting Standards. However, she is also involved in developing the firm by sharing insights on important topics such as the firm’s strategy, IT solutions and recruitment.

Jonathan Armoogum
Jonathan Armoogum Appointed until June 2028, Statura Group

Jonathan Armoogum is an Assistant Manager at Statura Group, where he looks after a diverse portfolio of UK and overseas companies across various sectors such as art, renewable energy, and sport.He began his career at a boutique firm in South London, gaining valuable experience with both corporate and private clients, before joining Statura in 2023. In addition to managing his portfolio, Jonathan heads up Statura’s Tirana office and chairs the firm’s Artificial Intelligence committee. He is a former member of the ICAEW South London & Surrey board and currently sits on the ICAEW London local network board.

Dawn Baker Appointed until June 2029, Albert Goodman LLP

Dawn is Practice Protection Partner at Albert Goodman LLP, where she leads the firm’s approach to practice management, quality, risk and regulatory compliance. With over 25 years’ experience across Big 4 and mid-tier professional services firms, and having trained in statutory audit, she brings a practical understanding of the operational and regulatory challenges faced by firms in practice. Dawn chairs Albert Goodman’s Risk Committee and holds a number of key compliance roles, including MLRO, Practice Assurance Principal, and Data Protection Officer. She is currently supporting firm-wide change across contracting, policy, client due diligence, data protection and risk management. Her wider experience includes senior internal audit, forensic and advisory roles, working with professional services firms and law firms on regulatory compliance, client money and dispute-related matters.

Stephen is a member of the ICAEW Members and Commercial Board

Joshua Curtis
Joshua Curtis Appointed until June 2028, Lubbock Fine

Josh qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Lubbock Fine LLP, spending eight years in the audit team managing clients across technology, asset management, and property. He later moved into accounting technology, first developing compliance software for accountants in practice with Silverfin, then leading the continued development of Starling Bank’s Business Toolkit, a subscription platform for small businesses to manage their finances. Josh returned to Lubbock Fine LLP in 2023 as a Director in Business Services and divides his time between an asset management focused client portfolio and delivering technology change as part of the firms Digital Transformation Group.

David Fletcher Appointed until June 2029, Just Audit

David is Associate Director at Just Audit, and based near Cambridge. He leads statutory audits across a broad range of SMEs and sectors and has a firm-wide role in audit quality, professional standards and regulatory compliance. He is closely involved in ISQM 1 monitoring and quality improvement, including facilitating Root Cause Analysis to support continuous improvement. As part of an audit-only practice, he works collaboratively with general practice firms across the UK and brings day-to-day insight into the practical challenges faced by firms of differing sizes. He is also responsible for regulated assurance work, including CASS 5 audits and ATOL reporting, and contributes to practice management and professional development, including oversight of training and CPD.

Maria Hallows Appointed until June 2027, Beever and Struthers

Maria is an Executive Partner at Beever and Struthers. As the head of the firm’s Social Housing sector, she provides technical support to clients and acts as a sounding board on sector issues. Her client work is predominantly statutory audit in the social housing and charity sectors and her clients include Public Interest Entities (PIEs).

Anna Hicks
Anna Hicks Appointed until June 2029, Saffery

Anna leads on the Saffery’s audit and financial reporting technical activity. She works with client teams, advising on audit and accounting matters as well as supporting technical training, technical publications and other communications internally and externally. She also represents Safery at Nexia and on a number of external technical forums, including several ICAEW committees. She has considerable experience in IFRS as well as UK GAAP, with a particular interest in larger company financial reporting. Anna joined Saffery in 2014, having spent seven years in industry as a Group Financial Accountant for a listed property company. She completed her training at a Big Four firm, where she specialised in retail, travel and leisure clients.

Leoni Kyprianidou Appointed until June 2027, PwC Cyprus

Leoni has been working at PwC Cyprus for over a decade, effectively managing large, diverse, and multicultural teams and clients. In addition to her role, she is an active member of the PwC Foundation, the PwC Inclusion and Diversity Committee and the SPEAKUP team. Leoni is also responsible for the learning and development curriculum for her department. Notably, she is the first international member to join the IPC.

Neil McMillan
Neil McMillan Appointed until June 2028, McMillan & Co LLP

Neil is a Partner at McMillan & Co LLP and provides a range of advisory, audit and other compliance services to the owner managed business, SME and charitable sectors. He trained and qualified at KPMG and as a Senior Manager worked primarily in Audit, but also with assignments in Transaction Services and Corporate Finance.Neil is a former President of ICAEW Lancashire & South Lakeland and was elected as Council member for the North West in 2021.

Rebecca Trudgett
Rebecca Trudgett Appointed until June 2029, Switchfoot Accounting

Rebecca is the founder of Certified B Corp Switchfoot Accounting based in Camberley Surrey, where she looks after a diverse portfolio of purpose driven small businesses. Rebecca is the co-author of the “What is sustainable professional advice” whitepaper and a graduate of the school of system change in finance. Rebecca is a member of the ICAEW Small Practitioners Community advisory group.

Lindsey Tyler Appointed until June 2029, Sumer

Lindsey Tyler is Group Head of Audit and an Executive Committee Member at Sumer Group. Lindsey is responsible for leading and developing a national audit practice, overseeing more than 800 auditors across 50+ offices, driving a consistent focus on quality, innovation and scalable growth within a rapidly expanding, multi-regional firm. With over 20 years’ experience in audit, Lindsey has worked extensively with privately owned, family-owned and private equity-backed businesses across a broad range of sectors. Lindsey is passionate about advancing audit quality across the profession and brings a practical, firm-level perspective to her role on the ICAEW Practice Assurance Committee.

Alexandra Vaughan Appointed until June 2029, S&W

Alex is an Associate Director of Business Outsourcing Services at S&W where she focuses on end-to-end financial operations, regulatory compliance and strategic advisory support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. She has over 25 years of experience including varying sizes of accountancy practices, Family Office management and outsourced finance departments. She is on the S&W Technology Round Table and strongly advocates integrating technology and Artificial Intelligence into modern financial management. Alex has also been appointed to the ICAEW Corporate Reporting Faculty Board.
