  • the proposed criminal offence for reckless untrue statements;
  • mandatory payrolling of benefits in kind;

Paying employer's PAYE

HMRC has reminded employers that the November 2026 electronic payment deadline falls on Sunday 22 November 2026. To make sure the payment for the month reaches HMRC on time, the employer needs to have funds cleared into HMRC’s account by 20 November 2026, unless they are able to arrange a faster payment.

Employer-provided welfare counselling

HMRC has updated its guidance on the tax treatment of employer-provided welfare counselling to include additional examples and clearer links to related guidance. HMRC says that the changes have been made to help employers "understand how the existing exemption applies", and that "the updated guidance does not change the legislation or extend the scope of the exemption".
