ICAEW Council elections for 2023 will take place across most of the UK – and around the world with direct elections for the first time in Africa, Greater China (including Hong Kong), Malaysia, Middle East and South East Asia. The Institute is encouraging all members to get involved, either by standing, nominating a candidate or voting for their representative.
“ICAEW’s membership represents a broad constituency (some would say a “broad church”) and Council needs to properly reflect the whole of our membership,” says Chair of Council Derek Blair. “A diverse Council, containing people of different ages, genders, ethnicities, perspectives and with a range of professional experience gained in different parts of the World makes better quality decisions than if it were made up of a narrower demographic.”
The constituency in which you can stand, nominate and vote, depends on your registered address on the qualifying date of 3 October 2022. Nominations will open on 2 November. To participate, please ensure your profile details are up to date by 3 October 2022.
ICAEW celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2030. This is the perfect opportunity to join Council and help shape the future of the Institute.
“Don’t assume that you don’t have the skills and experience required to fully contribute. None of us joined Council as the perfect Council member. We have all learnt on the job. In fact, joining Council is almost like doing an MBA over four years,” says Blair.
