Whatever life has in store, as an ICAEW member you can count on help when you need it most. ICAEW’s dedicated charity caba offers a wide range of services and resources free of charge to past and present members, students, and their families.
Boost your health
Caba’s website features tips on improving your physical health including ways to improve your sleep, eat better and move more. It also contains detailed articles on ways to sharpen your memory, keep your heart healthy and control your blood pressure.
When it comes to addressing mental health, as well as providing helpful content on coping with stress, managing burnout and dealing with grief and addiction, caba also provides confidential one-to-one talking therapies and counselling. Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem and grief.
The team can also provide support for those living with a disability or illness, or their carers, including tailored advice and benefits help, as well as financial and emotional support.
If you are neurodivergent, caba can provide mental health support, help with benefits and finances, and give you a hand with accessing reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
Get help with your finances
As the cost of everyday essentials continues to rise, many of us are feeling the pinch. But if your finances start to feel out of control, this can have a knock-on effect on your mental and physical wellbeing. Whether you're looking for debt advice, budgeting support or benefits information, caba can help.
Additionally, caba offers means-tested financial support which can help pay for essential home repairs, energy costs, care home top-up fees and car repairs and maintenance. If you're struggling with essential living expenses such as housing costs or ICAEW membership fees, caba may be able to assist.
Develop your career
Caba has a host of resources to help you move forward in your career, including tips on finding work, returning to work after a career break and dealing with redundancy. The team offers support for those out of work, including career coaching on interview skills and CV building, or business coaching to develop ideas into realistic business plans.
Caba has an ACA student support hub to help manage stress, exam pressure and finances while studying. And, later in your career, the charity offers advice on the transition into retirement.
Your legal questions answered
Caba’s legal partner Law Express offers free independent legal advice over the phone, providing support on topics as diverse as divorce, property, employment, dismissal, tax, wills and personal injury.
