To enhance consumer confidence, firms should do the following.
- Clearly state that they are regulated by ICAEW for legal services.
- Provide details of ICAEW’s compensation scheme arrangements in writing with relevant timescales.
- Explain your professional indemnity insurance cover.
- Display the ICAEW “accredited for probate” logo on the website.
The logo is not mandatory, however we strongly recommend you display this as it helps consumers to recognise and trust an ICAEW-accredited legal services firm. Remind consumers that they can verify regulatory information about your firm on ICAEW’s legal services register
Diversity information requirements
Firms must collect, report, and publish a summary of their workforce diversity data on their website every two years. This promotes transparency and demonstrates your commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
You can publish a short summary of the data you collected in a format of your choice on your website. If your firm does not have a website, you must publish the data in your marketing materials or in documents about your firm included with your engagement letter.
If you are a small firm and the anonymity and privacy of individual members of staff may be compromised, consider adapting the information by publishing less-sensitive data only. More information about these requirements and guidance on publishing the summary is available on our web page: Diversity reporting FAQs
