The ACA shaped not only my technical skills but the way I think, solve problems and lead. From building resilience during Big 4 training to guiding my transition into entrepreneurship, it has been the framework behind every major decision and venture. As the ACA evolves with a stronger focus on technology, sustainability and ethics, it continues to prepare future professionals to adapt, innovate and create meaningful impact.
Studying for the ACA during my years at a Big 4 firm was more than an academic challenge. It was the foundation of how I think, work and solve problems. Balancing client deadlines, complex audits and intense study, built resilience and discipline, but also taught me how to break down complexity, analyse in depth, and stay calm under pressure. Those years shaped my mindset and taught me how to approach every decision with clarity, ethics and purpose.
When I moved into entrepreneurship, that mindset became my strongest asset. Founding Atokes and One Giraffe, required structure, financial discipline, risk awareness and the ability to turn vision into organised and scalable operations. From designing credit assessment frameworks and automating finance processes, to advising businesses and supporting strategic growth at Falconeye, the qualification has been a constant guide. It gave me the confidence to lead, build and push projects from concept to execution.
The ACA continues this evolution. With its deeper focus on technology, sustainability, ethics and specialised learning, it prepares future professionals for a world where business and society are changing faster than ever. It gives students not just knowledge, but adaptability and the ability to innovate, think responsibly and build solutions that matter.
If I could give one piece of advice to new students, it’s this: the ACA will challenge you, but will also change you. Embrace the journey, because the mindset you build along the way will open doors you never knew existed.
