Auto enrolment

New regulations requiring firms to auto-enrol their staff into pension schemes began to come into force from 1 October 2012. The new requirements were rolled out to the largest companies first and will cover all companies by early 2018. They need to assess their staff, enroll them into a workplace pension scheme if they meet certain criteria, write to them to tell them what they’ve done, maintain a payment of pension contributions into their pension scheme and complete and submit a declaration of compliance with The Pensions Regulator.
