UK and Ireland

Legislation.gov.uk
Comprehensive archive of public and local Acts in the UK, plus Statutory Instruments.

British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII)
Service providing free internet access to British and Irish (and some international) legal materials, ranging from case law to legislation.

Case Law: The law-index
Database of law case summaries provided by a law firm based in Yorkshire, supported by the Law Society. The index can be browsed by topic and date. A searchable subscription-based version, Lawindexpro, is also available.

Gray's Inn Tax Chambers
Tax case reporting service provided by this Barristers' chambers. Its policy is to provide an online summary of each judicial decision in which a member of Gray's Inn Chambers has appeared, within 30 minutes of judgment. There are also online articles on tax matters written by the members of the chambers.

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS)
The HMCTS website provides access to appeals, judgments, practice directions, daily lists and notices.

Incorporated Council of Law Reporting (ICLR)
The website provides Daily Law Notes, Weekly Law Reports, the Law Reports, and the Industrial Cases Reports. Lists of current and recent cases are given, with one or two full-text examples.

Inner Temple Library: FAQs
The Inner Temple Library has created a series of research guides to assist with common legal enquiries. The series covers UK law, EU law and treaties.

LexisNexis
A suite of subscription services and products for legal information, case law and research.

Westlaw
Subscription-based legal research portal, including a comprehensive database of UK case law.

Court of Justice of the European Union
Includes a database of cases from 1997, searchable by case number, court, date and parties involved. Cases prior to 1997 are available at EUR-Lex.

Guide to Foreign and International Legal Databases
Guide to legal research resources produced by the New York University School of Law Library

International Court of Justice
The judicial organ of the United Nations. The website has an archive of past, current and pending cases and advisory proceedings and information on jurisdiction and treaties.

Justis
Subscription-based online legal service, including key case law series, UK statute law, and European Union case law and legislation.

World Legal Information Institute
Legal database covering over 120 jurisdictions giving access to case law, legislation, treaties, law reform reports and law journals.
