Make the most of your Audit and Assurance Faculty resources during 2026.
As a member of ICAEW’s Audit and Assurance Faculty you can rely on support from a growing range of topical, practical and technical articles, guides, webinars and other specialist resources during the coming year.
Stay ahead of developments around new and revised international and UK standards on auditing, assurance, ethics and quality management; gain practical tips on adopting good professional practices and avoiding pitfalls; explore the potential of established and emerging technologies; plus many other ways to enhance the quality and efficiency of audit and assurance.
Many of the resources have been developed by audit and assurance professionals, who have shared their insights and knowledge. During 2025, they shared learnings from implementations of the revised group auditing standard ISA 600 and the quality management standard ISQM 1. They also contributed practical considerations in our substantially updated guide on Auditing in a group context. These and other related resources can be accessed through our hubs on Auditing groups of companies and Quality management in audit firms.
Amid the emergence of new standards for sustainability assurance (and reporting), and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and techniques in audit, the profession has also needed to rapidly assimilate other significant changes.
ICAEW convened standard-setters and practitioners at events to help firms prepare for engagements using the new sustainability assurance standard ISSA 5000. Our Sustainability assurance hub offers information, insights and other resources from across the assurance ecosystem.
In 2025, firms shared AI adoption experiences in our webinar AI in audit: opportunities and challenges, with follow-on articles offering perspectives from a smaller firm and a larger firm. The faculty also explored how well large language models can perform certain audit tasks.
Other examples of practical resources to help audit firms, teams and individuals refine audit approaches and enhance audit quality and efficiency include a Q&A on improving the audit of cash flow statements; and pointers on avoiding and addressing weaknesses in audit documentation. They are supported by webinars that take a deeper dive, with the recordings available on the faculty’s webinar hub page. These are just some of the many resources available to members, so it pays to explore what’s available.
The Audit and assurance faculty resources hub provides access to events and recordings, Audit & Beyond articles, ICAEW Insights articles, Technical releases and faculty guides to help firms to prepare their audit reports for certain specific situations.
In addition, explore topical issues and themes on the Audit and assurance hub, including individual International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), the audit lifecycle, audit by subject areas and sector-specific assurance.
