Charindra Pathiwille, who became Deloitte’s new managing partner for financial advisory at the start of the year, has made some changes to senior management in the UK service line.

Pauline Biddle (1) takes over from Fenton Burgin (2) as head of corporate finance advisory. Matt Howell (3) moves to head of transaction services and Katie Jackson (4) to head of forensic.

Biddle joined Deloitte’s transaction services team as a director in 2002, from Arthur Andersen, where she trained as an ACA and had secondments to the US and Australia. She is based in Birmingham.

Howell is based in London and has been with the firm 28 years. Jackson is also based in London and joined the firm 21 years ago from Arthur Andersen, where she trained as an ACA.

Burgin, who led Deloitte’s corporate finance for five years and is a member of the Corporate Finance Faculty board, will now focus on international cross-border M&A, debt and capital raising, specifically in the European/US deal corridor.

EY has appointed Konstanze Nardi (1) as global private equity exit readiness leader and Will Rhode (2) as global private equity ESG leader. In the wake of the aborted split of its audit and consulting business, the firm has announced it will invest $1bn over four years to expand its private equity service.

Based in London as a transaction advisory services partner, Nardi has been with the firm 20 years. She has worked in the US, Germany and the UK, leading international cross-border buy-side and sell-side due diligence. She is an ACA.

Rhode joined EY in 2021 from the Boston Consulting Group and has more than 13 years’ experience in financial services. He also worked for TABB Group in New York. His new role will focus on growing EY’s private equity ESG business.

EY-Parthenon has promoted James Nicholson (3)  to head of its strategy practice, and recruited Nick Feingold (4) from Amazon and Lluis Borrell (5) from FTI Consulting as strategy partners.

Fiona Robertson (1) has joined KPMG in Glasgow as associate director of corporate finance, from Azets, where she spent five years, latterly as a corporate finance director in Glasgow. She previously spent six years with Simmons & Company International in Aberdeen and Dubai, advising on energy sector transactions. She trained as a chartered accountant with Zolfo Cooper in Glasgow.

The firm has also promoted Richard Andrews (2), partner in its financial services group, to UK head of ESG, succeeding John McCalla-Leacy, who became global head of ESG in October last year. Having trained as an ACA with KPMG, Andrews is also chair of the ICAEW Financial Services Faculty and ICAEW Council member.

Mark Selby (1), Martin Poole (2) and Tom Eastwood (3) have joined Debrett’s Private Finance team in Birmingham as directors, from Azets. Selby was previously national head of corporate finance at Azets. Prior to that he worked for Ashgates Corporate Finance, Grant Thornton and KPMG. Poole was a corporate finance partner at Azets, and before that worked for Yorkshire Bank, Clearwater International Corporate Finance and RSM. Eastwood spent six years with Azets, where he was associate director. Prior to that, he was MD of Tagg Equestrian for 11 years and before that worked for Eastwood Anglo Corporate Finance and HSBC Private Bank.

Simon Carin (4) has also joined the advisory firm from Azets, but as non-executive director. He is chairperson of the Manufacturers Alliance, covering North Wales and Merseyside.

Dow Schofield Watts has promoted Ros Jones to partner in the transaction services team in the North West. She joined the firm’s Warrington office as transaction services manager in 2015 from Air Energi, where she was group financial accountant, and moved to the Manchester office in 2017, when she was promoted to senior manager. She had been a director since January 2020.

She previously worked in corporate finance for Hazlewoods in Cheltenham, and before that in audit for Hallidays.

Cambridge-based M&A advisory firm PEM Corporate Finance has recruited Cameron Rothwell (1) as executive and promoted Samuel Reynolds (2) to manager.

Rothwell has moved across from PEM Accountants, where he trained as an ACA in audit.

Reynolds also trained as an ACA with PEM Accountants’ audit team, but moved to PEM Corporate Finance as an executive in August 2021. He was promoted to assistant manager in August 2022, and to manager in April. During his time with the corporate finance team, he passed the ICAEW/CISI Level 6 Diploma in Corporate Finance to become a full member of CISI.

Gambit Corporate Finance in Cardiff has recruited Louise Howard as manager from Grant Thornton. She started her career at Goldman Sachs before spending three years at JP Morgan.

Phil Dean (1) has joined Cortus Advisory’s Nottingham office as a director in transaction services, from PwC. He spent 15 years in transaction services in PwC’s Birmingham office.

In Manchester, the firm has recruited George Sanders (2) as a corporate finance executive. He moves from RSM, where he completed his ACA training, having started with Beever & Struthers in Manchester.

Clearwater International has promoted Ed Gale to partner in its TMT sector team. Based in the North West, he joined Clearwater as director last year from EY, where he spent 15 years as a corporate finance adviser.

Azets has acquired Naylor Wintersgill, a Bradford-based advisory firm, which offers services including corporate finance to SMEs across Yorkshire.

Houlihan Lokey in London has recruited David Kelnar (1) as capital markets managing director, from Numis. He previously worked for MMC Ventures and Goldman Sachs. David Theys (2) has joined as corporate finance managing director in its newly opened Antwerp office, from Benelux corporate finance boutique, Nielen Schuman.
