ICAEW's Outstanding Achievement Award celebrates the work of ICAEW Chartered Accountants across all the fields and disciplines in which they have an impact and recognises their efforts to benefit the accountancy profession and / or society at large.
Selection criteria
The laureate should be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, although they can be nominated by both members and non-members alike:
- The "outstanding contribution" must be one of distinction whether obviously apparent or not.
- A contribution could be regarded as being made over a period of years or with respect to a specific exceptional event or achievement.
- It would be desirable to achieve geographical diversity.
- The candidate should preferably be seen to have served the community in the broadest sense. In addition, it is desirable that the Award should be made, over the years, for contributions in different fields of endeavour.
- Whilst a candidate should not be excluded because they have not contributed much to the field of accountancy they should have ideally demonstrated some public pride in being a Chartered Accountant.
If you would like to nominate an ICAEW Chartered Accountant to be considered for the Award, please submit your nominations (citing the individual’s contribution which you consider to be outstanding, as well as any other background on the individual or the contribution that you consider relevant) by emailing Jonathan Downer, Secretary to the Selection Committee.
