Cyprus Younger Members Committee

The ICAEW Cyprus Younger Members Committee (CYMC) is a volunteer group, whose primary purpose is to work with the local ICAEW team to help deliver a member support plan for ICAEW Cyprus that provides increased value to younger members in the region.

Styliana Panayi is a Senior Manager in the Assurance Department of PwC Cyprus and also member of the Accounting Consulting Services team.

Styliana holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance with a first-class honours from the University of Manchester and a Master in Business Administration (MBA).
 
She is also a fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), an ICAEW Business and Finance Professional and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC).

Stalo Anastasiou is a Budget Analyst in the Chief Information Office Division of Bank of Cyprus. Stalo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Business and Business Administration - Accounting from the University of Cyprus. She is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), an ICAEW Business and Finance Professional and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Cyprus (ICPAC). Stalo is also a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and a member of the ACFE Cyprus Chapter.

Graduating from Newcastle University in 2014, having obtained a BA Hons in Accounting and Finance, whereas he had the opportunity to “serve” and pass on the concerns, suggestions and ideas of his fellow course-mates at the University, from the positions of Peer Mentoring Scheme for two consecutive years, Course Representative, and a Vice President for the Board of Students of the Newcastle University Business School. Christos then moved on to pursue a career in Audit and Accounting Services, starting this journey at a Big 4 Audit Firm (KPMG) in Gibraltar, whereas the focus of the portfolio of clients included Publicly Listed Insurance firms, Betting Companies, and Investment banks.

In 2016 he repatriated in Cyprus to work for a middle tier Company (BDO) whereas the focus of clientele was that of Investment Holding Limited Companies. In 2019 and having obtain the qualification of ACA, he moved on again to a Big 4 Audit firm (KPMG), with the sole focus in the industry of Cyprus Shipping Companies. Christos has also worked as an Internal Audit Regulatory Consultant for a lead firm, providing Internal Audit Regulatory and Compliance Services, to the 60% of the Cyprus Investment Firms registered within CySEC.

Recently, Christos has joined as a Supervisor, an Audit Boutiuqe Firm, founded on the core values of trust, quality and commitment offering Audit, Tax and Consulting Services, in a wide range of Local as well as International Jurisdictions. In addition Christos is a Part Time Instructor at a Local Private Institute for the Qualification of LCCI (Elementary and Intermediate).

Maria is a Supervisor at the Financial Advisory Department in Grant Thornton Cyprus, working on financial and compliance advisory issues. She is also a member of the Ethics Team in Grant Thornton Cyprus, involved in internal compliance procedures. Maria is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and an Associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in Cyprus and USA. She holds a Masters degree in Finance and Investment from University of Bristol and a BA(Hons) in Accounting and Finance from University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Ward is a holder of a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut. She is a qualified chartered accountant and a certified Internal Auditor. Ward is currently a Finance Manager at a multinational Group whose main activities are the production and export of quality fresh fruit to international markets. Styliani Eftychiou is an Internal Auditor, in the Internal Audit Department of Cyta. She started her career in Audit and Accounting Services back in 2015 with one of the Big Four Audit Firms (KPMG Cyprus), where she qualified as an ACA and became Audit Supervisor. The portfolio of clients included Publicly Listed Companies in Cyprus Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, Financial Institutions, Investment Firms, Agriculture Companies with biological assets, Trading and Wholesale Companies and Companies in the HORECA industry.

Andreas Ioannou

Andreas started his career in Deloitte as an auditor where he qualified as ACA. In 2017 Andreas briefly joined a foreign interest entity as Senior Accountant and then moved to the corporate fiduciary services industry by joining IQ EQ Cyprus in 2018 as a Manager. Recently, Andreas joined G.A.P. Vassilopoulos Group as Chief Accountant. Academically, Andreas holds a BSc (Hons) Economics from University of Bath and an MBA from the Cyprus Institute of Marketing. Andreas has experience in committees from his tenure as Treasurer and then Chair of Cyprus society at the University of Bath where he contributed to winning the award of Best Cultural Society. Elena Vassiliou is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance modules at the American University of Cyprus. She initiated her career in Audit and Accounting services back in 2013 until 2017 with one of the Big Four Audit Firms (KPMG Cyprus) where she qualified as an ACA and became Audit Senior. She was involved on final/interim statutory audits of key clients with an expertise of key audit areas like Tourism sector, Banking sector, Investment companies, Provident funds, and Welfare funds

Elena was then being employed by PA College from 2017 until 2021 as a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Economic modules where she gained an experience under the Erasmus program to provide lectures on ACCA-Financial Management modules in the Birmingham City University.

Elena holds a BA Accounting and Finance from the University of Essex with First Class Honor. She is also an Associate Chartered Accountant within the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and an ICAEW Business and Finance Professional (BFP).

Fitzroy seeks to establish strategic and financial partnerships with alternative investment firms operating across geographies and asset classes.

Prior to Joining Fitzroy Capital in 2022, Giannis started his career at KPMG. He trained as an auditor for few years, where he performed financial statement audits in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Auditing Standards. Participated in the Audit of a large listed client in the Cyprus Stock exchange and smaller firms across sectors. Following KPMG, he joined Crowe Cyprus, where he was part of a team that operated the accounting department of an Insurance Reinsurance Company (non-life), which was outsourced to Crowe Cyprus.

Giannis is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with the ICAEW.
