Commercial and non-commercial purpose
The legislation does not define the meaning of commercial or non-commercial and we are therefore not able to advise you on this matter. However, there are some web sites which may help you to understand what might be considered non-commercial.
The CLA and the British Library have issued a joint document on this issue entitled Notes on Changes to UK Copyright Law: A joint note from the British Library and The Copyright Licensing Agency Ltd ("CLA"). This gives example situations and their view on the status of each as well as a list of FAQs.
