When you use your phone to check the next bus times, look up the weather forecast or even message your friends, you’re using APIs. If you’ve ever bought something using PayPal, that’s an API. Chances are, logging onto your organisation’s intranet uses an API too. APIs are a fundamental building block of the interconnected world of today, but information on this topic is often complex and aimed at technical experts.
