Elections for ICAEW Council 2023 will open around the world on 2 November 2022 and I’d like to encourage all members to get involved.
Being a member of Council is a dynamic, challenging and hugely rewarding role, offering opportunities to directly serve the public interest.
At a time of such profound global transition, our profession has a critical role to play, providing strategic leadership and enabling sustainable economies.
ICAEW leads the profession, and Council helps guide the direction and activities of our institute, so Council members carry an immense responsibility.
I stood in the council elections because I wanted to ensure that our institute was the best it could be for all our members. I felt I could add value with my technical knowledge, my experience and my passion. Every Council member will bring something a little different to the table, but that is what is important: a Council that is representative of our membership and their needs, but which can also focus on our public interest role as required in our Charter.
The elections will take place across most of the UK, including new constituencies in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, as well as in Africa, Greater China (including Hong Kong), Malaysia, the Middle East and South-East Asia.
The full list of constituencies for elections can be found on our elections webpage.
Whether by standing yourself, nominating a candidate or voting for your representative, this is the perfect opportunity to help shape the future of ICAEW, as we head towards our 150th anniversary in 2030.
