TAXline News: February 2020

Frank Haskew, Head of the Tax Faculty, reports on recent developments at the Tax Faculty during February 2020.

Following the general election on 12 December 2019, we have a new government. All the former ministers in HM Treasury in the previous government have been reappointed to their posts, including the financial secretary to the Treasury, Jesse Norman MP.

With the election out of the way and with continuity in terms of ministers, they moved into gear quickly. After a hiatus in activity that lasted most of the second half of 2019, there was a flurry of announcements just before Christmas and early in the New Year.
