ECI Partners has recruited Badr Khan as an independent growth specialist, focusing on technology. He was previously a board-level technology adviser at Marks & Spencer, Matches Fashion and Auction Technology Group. The latter was an ECI investment, which grew through M&A before listing on the LSE. He will assist ECI in assessing investment opportunities, and on portfolio company projects.

Inflexion has promoted five to partner: Meredith Bourne (1), Tom Green (2), Alex Mathers (3), Andrew Neville (4) and Henrik Nordman (5). Bourne joined Inflexion from Evercore in 2020, where she spent 10 years, initially in New York. Green joined in 2016 from CPA Global, having previously worked for Deloitte’s corporate finance team and Capgemini. Mathers joined in 2018, and previously worked for OC&C Strategy Consultants, Release Consulting and Accenture. Neville joined in 2016 from Octopus Healthcare, having previously worked for GI Partners, Three Delta and in corporate finance for PwC. Nordman joined in 2022 from Bridgepoint and previously worked for Frontiers Capital and Morgan Stanley.

The private equity firm has also promoted Sam McPhail, Alice Lawson and Jonathan Battye to director; and Andrea Johnson, Nick Davies, David Collins, William An, Claire Vassie, Monica Aggarwal, Cameron Lenton, Heng Schiltges and Jack Weller to assistant director.

Stephen Welton, founder and former chair and CEO of the BGF, has been appointed CBE in the King’s 2023 birthday honours for “services to small businesses and entrepreneurship”. He was CEO of the BGF for almost 10 years, and on the board of ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty for four years.

Laura Morrill has joined Agathos Management in London as investment director, from ECI Partners, where she was also investment director. She joined ECI in January 2018 as investment manager from PwC. She spent five years with the Big Four firm, initially in transaction services and then corporate finance lead advisory.

Trilantic Europe has promoted Javier Olascoaga to managing partner. Based in London, he has been with the firm for 10 years and before that worked for Lehman Brothers Private Equity and Goldman Sachs.

Nordic Capital Advisors has recruited Mohit Agnihotri as partner based in London, from Financial Technology Partners. He previously worked for JP Morgan, having started his career with Deloitte Consulting.

HIG Capital has recruited infrastructure specialist John Bruen as a managing director in its London office, from Macquarie Asset Management, where he spent 10 years, most recently as head of transport for EMEA.

Palatine has launched a Growth Credit Fund to be led by tech fund manager Will Chappel, who has joined as a partner. He previously worked for Barclays, HSBC and Shawbrook. Neil Pitcher, former CEO of European Venture Partners and ETV Capital, has joined as non-executive chair for the fund.

Frans Tieleman has been appointed chair of Invest Europe. Based in Paris, he is an adviser at Eurazeo and a partner at Leto Partners.

The British Business Bank recruited Chantal Geall as its chief risk officer, from Pollen Street Capital-backed Lumon Pay.
