In March 2021, the Welsh Government announced a one-off bonus payment of £735 as a thank you for health and social care workers.

An earlier article discussing this payment can be found here.

This scheme is open to many NHS primary care dental workers, as well as their colleagues in other primary care provision. This can include dental principals and associates, as well as their employees. Mixed providers (i.e. private and NHS) may be eligible, depending on the level of NHS provision and other eligibility criteria.

The deadline to apply for payments is 30 September 2021, so is fast approaching. If clients are unsure of how to apply, they should approach their Local Health Board or NHS Wales Shared Service Partnership as soon as possible. Enquiries can also be sent by email.

Welsh Government guidance can be found here and the underlying Welsh Health Circular is here. The legislative Directions covering the scheme are here.
