No longer able to attend an event? Below is some guidance on what to do when you need to cancel, transfer, or request a refund on your event.
Cancelling a free event
If you are unable to attend a free event, we ask that you inform us as soon as possible, so we are able to allow another delegate a space on the event.
Refunding a booking
To be eligible for a refund we must be made aware of any cancellations at least 14 days prior to the event start date. Once the refund has been actioned this can take 10-14 working days for the funds to return to the original payment method.
For any refund requests made within 14 days of the event start date you will not be eligible for a refund, if you unable to attend the event you are able transfer the event to another individual.
Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day of the event. Please note an additional charge may be applicable if the new attendee is not entitled to the same rate.

Transfer your booking to new date
A delegate place can be transferred to another event, if the request to us is received more than 21 days before the event.
Transfer your booking to someone else
If you cannot attend an event, you can transfer your place to another individual. Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day of the event. Please note an additional charge may be applicable if the new attendee is not entitled to the same rate.

ICAEW cancelling an event
If ICAEW have to cancel an event our liability is limited to a full refund of the event fee only. We will not refund the following;
- any travel or hotel costs associated with the cancellation of an event
- any fees relating to the joining of a Faculty or Community with respect to the event booking.
ICAEW accepts no liability if an event is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.
