Alan Holliday is rejoining McGuireWoods as partner in its London debt finance practice, after five years as a senior legal officer at The Co-operative Bank.

Addleshaw Goddard has recruited Sarah Atkinson (1) as partner in its London real estate team, from Greenberg Traurig. With expertise in private equity-backed funding transactions, development finance and bond leaseback transactions, she was previously an associate at the firm from 2007 to 2010.

For its new office in Riyadh, the law firm has recruited debt restructuring specialist Amar Meher (2), to lead its banking, finance and restructuring practices in Saudi Arabia. He previously worked for Latham & Watkins, Allen & Overy and Vinson & Elkins.

Andrew Johnston (3), Addleshaw Goddard’s head of Middle East and Asia, will lead the office. There are three other partners: Ibrahim Siddiki (4) has joined from Bracewell in Dubai, where he led the corporate M&A practice; Homam Khoshaim (5), an M&A expert formerly at Latham & Watkins; and Alex Sarac (6), a projects and infrastructure specialist.

In Scotland, the firm has recruited Ross Nichol (7), from Dentons, as a partner in its commercial team. He specialises in intellectual property, IT and data privacy.

In Germany, Marco Zingler (8) joins the banking and finance practice from EY Law.

Burges Salmon has recruited two real estate finance specialists to its banking and finance team: partner Rohan Campbell (1) and director Tom Farrell (2), both from Maples Teesdale. Campbell previously worked at Irwin Mitchell and Herbert Smith Freehills. Farrell previously held roles at DLA Piper and Irwin Mitchell.

Cleary Gottlieb has recruited Ed Aldred as partner in its EMEA private equity practice in London, from Linklaters, where he trained as a corporate lawyer and worked for 21 years.
